The “Sub Conversation”: What Does Your Dream Mean?

You're about to plummet. Your teeth start to fall out. You're always ten minutes late for an important job presentation. We've all experienced those nightmares that cause us to wake up in a panic, only to learn they were just that: nightmares. But what do they really signify, and why do we think about them even when we're awake?

For vivid dreamers, our bodies can often experience what is happening in the dream. Getting totally grounded into the present moment can take a few seconds or even hours as we get back into a state of alertness.

And It turns out that dreams are important. The subconscious thoughts are your dreams. They're a continuation of our day's thoughts. Our brain conjures up about five dreams per night while asleep (yep, even if you don't remember them). There are a lot of subconscious thoughts to sort through. Although each dream is unique, they tend to follow similar symbolic patterns. Based on that, check out below as we explain the deeper implications of these typical dreams and what they signify

THE DREAM: YOU'RE GOING ABOUT YOUR DAY LIKE ANYONE ELSE.

The meaning: Is this a common dream that is shockingly perplexing? Real-life activities that are "boring," such as going about your typical workday or picking up the kids from school.

We cope with life pressures by referring to how we live daily since our brains are confined to what we know. Perhaps you went to bed thinking about everything you had to do the next day or you've been late picking up your child and are feeling guilty; perhaps you've been late picking up your child and are feeling guilty; perhaps you've been late picking up your child and are feeling guilty; perhaps you've been late picking up your child and are feeling guilty. It is advisable to investigate the emotions you experienced in your dream.

Remember that real-life thoughts and visuals are frequently used to create dreams; thus, there may not be any deeper meaning unless it feels like there is.

THE DREAM: YOU'RE IN SCHOOL AND ARE TAKING A TEST.

Such a dream is usually associated with work. School was our first job, and such dreams are common when a career obstacle looms. Whether you're trying to gain a new customer, it's assessment time, you're trying to earn a promotion—anytime you're feeling tested and have to show yourself.

THE DREAM: YOU'RE PARTYING WITH A CELEBRITY OF ANY KIND.

The meaning: Even if the celebrity appearance appears to be coincidental, there's a reason they're lingering in your mind. Finally, there's something about that individual that's relevant to you right now—and it could be deep in their IMDb background. Ask yourself what it is about this individual that connects you to them. It may be a movie they're in, or a song they've written—the message will be in the title of the film or the song's lyrics.

It's also possible that the message has something to do with the celebrity's persona. If you're pals in the dream, anything you enjoy about that celebrity is something you like about yourself as well. It's also something you want to be known for.

YOUR PARTNER HAS CHEATED ON YOU IN YOUR DREAM.

If there has been infidelity in your history, whether in this relationship or in a previous relationship, this will keep popping up because it is a bone of contention within yourself. The most important thing to keep in mind is that Dreams aren't meant to be taken literally. If there aren't any trust difficulties and something seems to come out of nowhere, it doesn't mean your partner is cheating. It's possible that another third wheel is to blame, such as something that might be taking up too much of your time and attention, could be your job, golf, friends, or a new baby; anything that is robbing you of your time and attention.

Finally, this dream can be beneficial if you don't wake up enraged at your partner for whatever they did in your subconscious. It's telling you that something needs to be fixed, and you and your partner can start having date evenings, or you can attempt to cut down on golf or whatever it is.

YOU CHEATED ON YOUR PARTNER IN YOUR DREAM.

The meaning: This one might be just as frightening—yet it's also symbolic. With these types of dreams, there is frequently some question about the other person's allegiance or the relationship's safety, which is usually emotional. Betrayal can take many forms; if you sense that your partner is putting something or someone else ahead of you or that they aren't being completely honest with you, your subconscious may be attempting to figure out what's going on. We can address the taboo or topics we're hesitant to confront when we're awake in our dreams.

THE DREAM: YOU ARE LATE FOR SOMETHING EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

If you operate in a deadline-oriented sector, this one is very self-explanatory. If not, it's still likely that deadlines are to blame—but they're self-imposed. Perhaps you want to lose weight or advance in your career by a certain date.

YOU'RE PREGNANT IN YOUR DREAM.

The meaning: Even if you're not attempting to start a family, this is a good dream to experience because it reflects that something is growing and developing inside of you. It might be anything from a new idea to working toward a promotion, and a lot of women get this while they're working on a degree or even when they're on the verge of a new relationship.

THE DREAM: YOU'RE STANDING ON A CLIFF WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU FALL INTO NOTHING.

Dreams of falling might be related to feelings of being out of control or overwhelmed. They could also be connected to a sense of being unsupported and insecure.

If you have a dream about collapsing because the floor gives way under you or a variant of this, it can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Even if there is a generic meaning of falling, the specifics matter most for the person dreaming. The details of the dream will have completely different meanings for each person. Falling may call up images of 9/11 for a particular sufferer. Another word that comes to me is 'falling from grace.' In short, while the dream of falling is fairly common, the details vary from case to case.

Falling dreams are often related to a sense of being out of control or overwhelmed. They may also be related to a sense of isolation and insecurity.

THE DREAM: YOU HAVE LOST YOUR VOICE AND ARE UNABLE TO CALL FOR HELP OR SHOUT FOR IT.

This could not simply be a dream, but it could also result from sleep paralysis. Our bodies experience REM (Rapid Eye Movement) atonia, a natural paralysis during the REM period, the sleep cycle during which we dream.

During REM sleep, we are physiologically immobilized to prevent our bodies from acting or moving while we dream. Sleep paralysis causes people to wake up before the REM period is completed. A dream can be experienced in the period between sleep and waking. In the waking state, it can also manifest as an inability to move, speak, or, in some circumstances, breathe.

THE DREAM: YOUR TEETH ARE FALLING OUT SUDDENLY.

Are you a nervous person, according to the interpretation? It could be pent-up anxiousness manifesting itself in a dream. We might conceive of this as a concern for one's potency, competency, strength, power, or ability. This common dream is also linked to times of transition and transformation.

THE DREAM: YOU'RE ON THE VERGE OF BEING CHASED.

The interpretation is that it all depends on who is chasing; frequently, it is monsters. The monster could result from a transgression, an addiction, or debt. It could be different if you have a bad dream (or nightmare) of being hunted by someone you know.

Focusing on the actual person chasing you is often more illuminating than focusing on your associations about the person chasing you. It's important to remember that persons in dreams can be substitutes for other people or even portions of ourselves.

THE DREAM: YOU'RE A CEO, PRESIDENT, QUEEN, OR RELIGIOUS FIGURE IN A POSITION OF POWER.

On the surface, having a dream of being in a position of authority appears to be extravagant. However, it may be argued that the majority of people who aspire to be in positions of power are not in such positions. As a result, the dream transforms the powerless dreamer into the polar opposite in the dream world. What appears to be grandiosity is actually a form of compensation. The dream compensates (or covers up) for the sensations of being powerless."

THE DREAM: YOU'RE AT AN IMPOSSIBLY ELEGANT DINNER PARTY, OR YOU'RE WITH A DECEASED FAMILY MEMBER, OR YOU'RE IN ANOTHER IMPOSSIBLE (BUT POSITIVE) SCENARIO.

The meaning of this dream and other dreams of enhanced elegance could indicate a desire to complement reality with fantasy.

Dreaming of a feast is an attempt to fill the void left by a missed meal while dreaming of a deceased loved one is a means to resurrect them
