Common Uses of Stainless Steel 310 Sheets
What are Stainless
Steel 310 Sheets?
Stainless steel 310 sheets are austenitic
sheets constructed from a heat-resistant alloy with excellent oxidation
resistance up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit under highly cyclic conditions. Alloy
310 is more resistant to high-temperature corrosion in most in-service
situations due to its high chromium (25%) and silicon (0.6%) composition. With
exceptional toughness to -450°F and low magnetic permeability, Stainless Steel
310 Sheets is frequently utilized at cryogenic temperatures.
Mechanical Properties of 310 stainless steel
sheets has a tensile strength of 520Mpa and proof stress (grade 0.2%) of 205Mpa
with an Elongation of 40%. It can withstand temperatures of up to 1150°C in
continuous service and 1035°C in repeating solution. Alloy 310 Sheets are
resistant to sulfidation and can be utilized in mildly carburizing environments
because of their high chromium and moderate nickel concentration.
What is Corrosion
Resistance?
Although the high chromium and nickel
composition provide corrosion resistance better to grade 304, grade 310 Sheets
are normally not used for harsh liquid service. Because the alloy lacks
molybdenum, it has a low resistance to pitting. After service at temperatures
ranging from 550 to 800°C, Grade 310 Sheets will become susceptible to
intergranular corrosion. At temperatures above 100°C, chloride stress corrosion
cracking can occur in corrosive liquids containing chlorides.
Common
uses of Stainless Steel 310 Sheets
Examples of Usage Fluidized bed combustors,
kilns, radiant tubes, tube hangers for petroleum refining and steam boilers,
coal gasifier internal components, lead pots, Thermowell, refractory anchor
bolts, burners and combustion chambers, retorts, muffles, annealing covers,
saggers, food processing equipment, and cryogenic structures all use stainless steel 310 sheets.
It is employed in the outside cladding of
large, high-impact structures and can also be found in the interiors as
railings, countertops, backsplashes, and other decorative elements. All modes
of transportation, including ship containers, road tankers, and garbage
vehicles, use stainless steel 310 Sheets. It's perfect for transporting
chemicals, liquids, and food supplies.
