9 Tips for Tackling Increasing Stack of Assignments During Exams.

Every student knows how stressful exams and assignments are. Both of them, individually, are capable of making students’ heads spin. What if they both fall in line and are supposed to be done in the same time period? Isn’t that thought-alone scary? Imagine it becoming a reality now! You won’t want to face such a situation. But once in their academic life, every student goes through a time when both exams and assignments are due at the same time.

This situation is not at all ideal. Students cannot afford to flunk any of the above-mentioned tasks. Because both are crucial in the final assessment. While exams are important due to the position they hold in making a student pass or fail a grade. Assignments are those extra credit points that could make a student come in first or second in their grade. So students want to do well in both of these academic commitments.

All of this is easier said than done. Students have to work way too hard to just complete both of these academic commitments. To excel in just one of them is an excruciating task. And to conquer them together, students have to bend over backward. But to make it a little bit easier, here are some things and tips that students should keep in mind while dealing with so much stress.

1. Make a Study Plan (Try Sticking to It!)

Being prepared never hurts, and especially in a situation as tight and critical as this one, it is a necessity to be prepared. To do that, there has to be a plan in action. Students should frame exactly what they want to do and how they will do it. Formulating a plan will make them organized.

2. Use Your University’s Facilities

If you don’t have any proper study material, you should not worry and never go out on a purchasing spree. Make the most of your university's facilities. Use the library, e-library, and any other portals they have up and running.

3. Treat Yourself with New Stationery

This is a great way to keep yourself happy and excited about studying. Because new stationery always makes one feel good while using it.

4. Create a Study Group

If you are feeling bored and unable to study alone, make a study group of your friends and batchmates. Through this way, you will not be alone and have a better studying experience through group discussion.

5. Eliminate All Possible Distractions

Try keeping your phone on DND mode so that you don’t get distracted by it easily. Also, make sure all the other sources of distraction are eliminated by you. This will help in better concentration.

6. Ask for Help

Do not shy away from asking for help. If you get stuck on a difficult chapter or question, ask your friends or seniors for help. If they are unable to solve your query, do not hesitate to talk to your professors, because you will waste more time trying to solve it on your own.

7. Stay Active & Eat Healthily

In this hectic time, don't forget about your own health. Because you will need your body at full power to be able to handle the stress and perform your best in both tasks. Stay active by taking a little walk daily and stocking up on healthy snacks to munch on while studying and writing assignments.

8. Take a Breath

It can easily be overwhelming to function under so much stress. So don’t forget to check in with yourself. Every once in a while, take deep and slow breaths to calm yourself down. You can even try meditating if you like. It will help you so much with the nerves.

9. You Are Not Alone

And lastly, you are in the same boat as all of your fellow batch mates. Everyone has been dealing with the same level of stress. Just, remember what you’re fighting for and put in the work. You will get the desired results for sure.

And now for the assignment part. Firstly, just relax and calm yourself, because hurrying won’t make things happen fast, instead, it will lead to more chaos and less work. So, when you are in the right state of mind, just follow these steps to complete the stack of pending assignments.

Step 1 – Understand the assignment question

Step 2 – Start researching

Step 3 – Create an Outline

Step 4 – Write

Step 5 – Review

If done right, these steps will help you empty out the stack of assignments in record time. With assignments under control and the preparation for exams done, there is nothing that can stop you from achieving what you set out to do.
